Larry Glen Jordan (71); Born May 21st, 1948 in Redding, CA a lifetime resident of Shasta County and 1966 graduate from Shasta High School, attended Shasta College pursuing career orientated classes; passed away at home Sunday, November 17th, 2019 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence E. Jordan of Malin, OR and Jean G. (Foster-Jordan) Lloyd of Redding.
Larry leaves his beloved wife; Janet E. (Schmidt) Jordan, of 41 years; his son Darren Jordan (50) of Missoula, MT; his daughter Corinne M. (39) (Jordan) Kingsbury of Shasta Lake, her husband Lee Kingsbury; grandchildren Jacob (17) and Skyler (7) Kingsbury.
Sister Donna Marie (Jordan) Mann her children Duane (Julie) Mann, Darcey (Steve) Self, Dana (Robert) Guthrie their children and many very special friends. Special thanks to those that helped Larry (UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Care and Mercy Medical Center Oncology Department including Endoscopy Department) during his illness and in his final days.
Larry was a proud, unique individual with a big heart who loved everyone and instantly connected with people from all walks of life.
He was extremely hard working, organized individual with high regards to quality workmanship including products used. His ability to effectively supervise and get the greatest production out of any crew was well known in the construction industry. His working environment included log truck driving in the early years, residential building, cement work and construction of commercial buildings. As a self-employed contractor, most of his work took him out-of-town (20 years) working on projects for family owned business, Nella Oil Company, building fuel stations and retail convenience stores called Flyers and Olympian throughout California.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles over the years and took several long road trips some with his wife, Janet. The special bond between motorcyclists was very special and gratifying.
In recent years he enjoyed treks to the Pacific Ocean staying on the Klamath River in Klamath, CA. A place where one can relax, enjoy life and forget most of their troubles.
Larry will be greatly missed by everyone he knew.
His funeral service will be at McDonald’s Chapel, 1275 Continental Street, Redding, CA 96001 on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Celebration of Life potluck to follow at the Jordan residence.
