Larry Brashear, 85, a resident of Shasta Lake for 40 years, passed away December 3, 2018.
Born on February 9, 1933 in French Camp, CA, son of the late Charles & Vaudine Brashear, Larry grew up in Manteca and graduated from Manteca High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Toponce, in 1953 and in June this year they shared their 65th wedding anniversary before Joyce passed away in October. Larry and Joyce raised their family in Carmichael and moved to Shasta Lake, near Redding, CA, in 1978.
Larry is survived by their beloved dog, Gracie; his daughter Jeanette (Johnny Lee) Zamrzla, of Lancaster, CA; brother Jim (Karen) Brashear of Cottonwood, CA; and sister Annette Haberstock of Maui, HI. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Brashear; and three of his four children, Larry Brashear, Jr.; Sharon Williams; Tommy Brashear.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at McDonald’s Chapel, (Redding Memorial Park) 1201 Continental Street, Redding CA 96001 at 10:30 am.
