In the early 1960’s Jean left Mississippi and moved to California along with her children James (Jim) and Cheryl. In 1967 Jean married the love of her life, Charles Hitchcock.
Jean and Charlie share many good times including visiting her son Jim and his family after their move to Redding.
After the passing of her husband in 2006, Jean stayed close to home and enjoyed the family coming to visit her. She even enjoyed riding on her son Jim’s motorcycle. A favorite quote of Jean’s was, “I don’t do stupid”.
Unfortunately, Jean was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and in May of 2020 she moved to Sierra Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Redding to be closer to family.
Being a tough cookie from the south, Jean survived Covid-19, but sadly passed away at Mercy Medical Center on March 10, 2021.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents Temple and Ada Clark, her beloved husband Charles Hitchcock, her brother BJ Clark and his wife Lillie, and her sister Odie Zell and her husband Randolph (Uncle Doc).
