It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Keller of Redding, California. Jim Keller was born on June 20, 1935 in Yreka, Calfornia to Emma and James Keller and passed away at age 87 on June 19,2023 in Redding, California. He grew up in Yreka and Yankee Hill California, and joined the Navy at 17. He was stationed in the South Pacific during the Korean War on a submarine tender and was later stationed in Hawaii.
He was a loving husband to Edna Jensen, proud dad to Jim Keller, Jr. (Lesha), Dianna Linn (Larry) and Mark Keller (Jennifer). He was a beloved father figure to Katrina Welty and stepfather to Rob St. Clair (Susan) and Wendy Rocha (Greg). He was also an amazing grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather to many.
Jim was known for his contagious smile and laughter, and his resemblance to Elvis. To know him was to love him. He was never too busy to brighten someone's day, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and backpacking. He spent much of his adult life working as a timber-faller.
A funeral service for James will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Church of Christ, 3434 North St., Anderson, CA. Celebration of Life to follow immediately at the Church Reception Hall.
