Helen Louise Grissom passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 12th at Mercy Medical Center. She was 85 years old.Helen was an exceptionally devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her husband of 64 years Wilson, her children Alan Grissom and wife Paula of Redding, Pamela Grissom and husband Gary Smith of Magalia, Rachel Hendricks and husband John of Savannah, Georgia, and Richard Grissom and wife Michelle of Fieldbrook, Ca.Helen is also survived by her grandchildren Meghan Hendricks of Inwood, West Virginia, Erin Hendricks of Savannah, Sam Hendricks of Savannah, Kaitlin Shanahan and husband Colin of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Gabrielle Stevenson and husband Michael of Redding, Madison Grissom of Redding, Jared Smith of Whidbey Island, Washington, Richelle Grissom of Fieldbrook, Ca and Austin Grissom of Fieldbrook, Ca.Helen is also survived by her great grandchildren Brooklyn Branson of Inwood, West Virginia and Beckett Michael Stevenson of Redding. Helen's grandchildren and great grand children were the pride and joy of her life.Helen was born in 1929 in Kelso, Washington to Henry E Becker and Grace Victoria Becker where they lived until moving to Eureka, Ca in 1948. It was about this time when Helen met the love of her life Wilson Grissom and were married in 1951. They made Eureka their home before moving to Fieldbrook in 1959. Fieldbrook was their family home and where their children were raised until Wilson was relocated by Simpson Timber Company to Shelton, Wa. in 1980. They lived in Shelton until Wilson's retirement in 1995 when they moved to Redding shortly thereafter.There will be a memorial service on Tuesday August 18th at 11am at McDonalds Funeral Chapel at 1275 Continental St in Redding and a reception immediately following also at McDonalds Chapel.
