Harley Lamar Boswell age 95 passed away on March 22, 2025 in his home in Redding California with his children present, Lana Boswell-Coyne, of Redding, Deborah Filice of Prescott Valley, Az., Steve Boswell and Greg Boswell of Paso Robles, Ca.
Lamar was born November 12, 1929 in Redding, California. He attended Shasta High School where he enjoyed sports and music.
As a teenager he worked on the building of the Shasta Dam as well as his dad.
He attended the Sherwood Music School in Chicago Illinois in the fall of 1947 and then served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division and the National Guard from 1948-1955.
Lamar, a widower, was married to Redding native, Carol P. Carlson, for 54 years. Together they owned and operated a local tv repair shop called Lamar's Electronics from 1960-1975.
Twice he was a 32nd Masonic Master of the Millville chapter.
In his younger years he spent many hours in the outdoors. He loved boating on Whiskeytown Lake and Shasta Lake. He water skied, loved camping, loved fishing the local creeks and streams. Also he enjoyed fishing for King salmon and catching smelt at the ocean’s shore.
Lamar loved gardening and to be surrounded by beautiful flowers. He was an avid San Francisco Giants baseball fan. Another passion he had for many years was building and flying remote control airplanes with his sons and son-in-law.
Lamar had 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the graveside service at the Redding Cemetery on Continental St. Friday May 2nd at 10 am.
