1930 - 2012
Madge was born in Bailey, OK and passed away on July 15, 2012. During her childhood her family lived in Oklahoma, but they also did temporary work in Arkansas and Arizona. Madge's family moved to Eureka, CA when she was in her teens, and she attended Eureka High School. Madge then met the love of her life Enoch (Woody), and they were married in Eureka in 1949. They raised five children. She loved being a housewife, and was a loving and caring mother and wife.
In 1980 the family moved to Redding where they managed the San Francisco Chronicle Home Delivery, and owned and operated the Mail Box inside the Downtown Mall. After retirement she enjoyed cooking for and taking care of her husband and grandchildren, which she always did with a smile. Madge loved being surrounded by her grandchildren. Madge spent the last 3 ½ years at Canyonwood Nursing Home in the Alzheimer's Unit, where she was well taken care of by the staff there.
Madge is preceded in death by her husband Enoch (Woody), they were happily married 62 years. She is survived by her son, Rusty and his wife Rachael Woodward of Cheyenne, WY; son, Steve Woodward of Redding, CA; daughter, Debbie and her husband Don Marx of Redding, CA; son's Curt and Mike Woodward of Redding, CA; 12, grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and many great friends.
A celebration of life will be at Lawncrest Chapel on July 19, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in Redding.
