David is survived by his wife Elaine Doe, his daughters, Julie Doe, Debbie Doe Williams, Sheraine Doe, and his son Jamie Doe. His grandchildren, Aeden Lenard, Jacob Fishell, Tyler Doe, Carlee Doe and Evan Urbina. His brothers, Joe Doe & Ben Doe and sister, Mary Doe all of which are in England.
David loved his family, loved his dogs, and his black angus cows. David really loved going to the beach and fishing and watching the waves. He also enjoyed travelling in his 5th wheel and fishing. David loved his flowers and was an avid rose grower. He loved working with the earth, he grew some really delicious tomatoes. His family, Romany Gypsy, were flower sellers all over the south of England. They also picked hops for brewing famous English ales. Horse dealing was also a way of life David's family.
The family made a brand new life and immigrated from England to California in 1977. What an adventure it has been! David and his family built their first family home all together in Cottonwood as David was also a ‘bricky’ builder. They lived in that home for 35 years. Since then the family has lived in Redding. David was a hard worker and made a wonderful life for his wife, Elaine and his children. He believed in working hard for everything you have. Nothing should be handed to you on a platter, you must earn it. He was a firm on that. He just wanted his family to be loved, warm and well mannered.
The family would love to see anyone who may have known David ‘Johnny’ either by working with him, by seeing him at the cattle market selling his cows, or just seeing him out and about.
Please come and say goodbye, farewell, or until we meet again on Sunday 9 December 2018 at McDonald’s Chapel. If you would like to send a message or flowers please see the links below.
