Charles Franklin Kessinger, 89, peacefully entered into the loving arms of Christ on January 9, 2013. Born July 14, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri, devoted husband, loving parent, grandparent and great-grandfather.
After returning home from the Army Charles made his way to Shasta County where he met Delpha , his bride of 63 years. Charles worked on the building of Shasta Dam and Iron Copper Mine. He had a 30 year career as V.P. Manager with Bank of America; after retirement he moved back to Redding.
Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling a perfect game and fishing with his brother-in-law. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and bigger than life love for his family and friends.
Survived by his bride, Delpha; son, John (Cathy); daughter, Cheryl; 4 grandchildren: Mat, Michael, Christine and Allison; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Mara and Sean.
Graveside celebration of life and ceremony with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 25, 2013 at Lawncrest Memorial Park, 1522 E. Cypress Ave. Redding, CA. Following the ceremony, a hospitality reception will take place at Lawncrest Chapel. (530-222-1587)
