Born September 8, 1922 in Swea City, Iowa to Jon and Sara Lovig-Skromme. She had two sisters, Arlette and Ester, two brothers, Lyle and Kermit who preceded her in death.
Catherine moved to California at the beginning of World War II to help her sister Arlette with her children. She worked for Lockeed aircraft in Burbank as a "rosie the riveter" assembling P38 fighter planes during the war.
Caroline married Willard E. Olson in 1944, whom she had met in Iowa. They lived in Los Angeles area and later moved to Paradise, California in 1959. The family moved to Redding, California in 1965. She has attended St. James Luthern church since it was on Cypress Ave.
Her favorite activities included volunteering at church and attending Sons of Norway gatherings. Catherine was a housewife , Avon representative, tax preparer and studied for her real estate license during this time. Although in later years she was legally blind, she lived by herself after Bill's death in 2001. In just the last six months she lived in assisted care until she went home to be with her Lord on March 11, 2015.
She is survived by her three Sons: Dwane and Maxine Olson of Redding; Roger and Sandy Olson of Sacramento; and Robert and Rita Olson of Illinois; eight grandchildren, several nieces , nephews, and four great grandchildren.
