Barbara Emma Richards

Barbara Emma Keene-Richards 94, of Redding died Friday December 27, 2013 at her home.

She was born to the late Fredrick and Fay Keene, December 31, 1918, in Berkeley, California. She survived her two brothers, Henry Keith Keene, and Richard Barnes Keene.

Barbara graduated from Bieber High School in 1936. She married the late Harmon L. Richards of Oakland, California in 1949.

During her years in Oakland she and her late husband owned a re-enforcing steel company. After the death of her husband she moved to Redding in 1999.

Barbara loved to cook and garden. After her retirement she set up charities for a Scholarship foundation, as well as a community foundation.

She is survived by her niece's, Joy Russell of Redding, Marie Roberts of Bieber, Linda Keene of Elk Grove, California and nephew Richard Keene of Redding. She is also survived by two great nieces and two great nephews, and ten great great nieces and nephews.

Barbara is also survived by her sister-in-law Margorie Keene of Bieber, California.
