Born in Sioux Pass, Montana to Swedish immigrants. One of twelve children. Passed away 8/10/15 at Mercy Medical Center.
While living in Montana, he worked as a farmer and a truck driver for Bismark Grocery Company. While visiting relatives in 1952, he was offered a job. One day after shoveling too much snow, he decided to move to Redding. He worked for Bert McDowell/United Grocers and then for C-Meek Lumber.
He is predeceased by his parents and ten siblings. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Gertrude Hanson and two sons and their families: Leon (Gayle) of Redding, Ray (Kim) of Reno, NV, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves his sister Olga of Spokane, WA.
Services are set for viewing at McDonalds Chapel on Saturday the 15th between 10 AM to 1 PM. Then a memorial service on Saturday the 15th at St. James Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM.
Arnold was a kind and gentle man and will be forever missed!
