Mark was born in Lakeport and grew up in Kelseyville, California. He attended Kelseyville High School where he was once Captain of the football team and named biggest flirt in the school annual. After graduation Mark enlisted in the Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from overseas, Mark rejoined the family business, Norton Motors, which was founded by his Grandfather. After working with his father Russell and mother Carol for many years, Mark took over the business and successfully ran it for nearly two decades. During that time, he raised a son, Jared Russell Norton, and married the love of his life, Erin (O’Brien) Norton.
Mark was a tremendous businessman, loving husband and amazing father. His generosity, quick wit and sense of humor will be sorely missed. Mark was predeceased by Erin, his wife of 30 years. He leaves behind a loving son, daughter-in-law Christy Norton, two granddaughters Tera and Aubrie Norton, two loving sisters Pam Jerome and Margie Mitten and a loving companion of many years Denise Forbes. Mark wanted to say thank you to the many family members and friends, especially Brian Harshbarger, that made his life such an amazing journey and joy over the years.
He will be forever in our hearts and continuously missed.
