Jesse Casey of Red Bluff at the age 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With family at his side, his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer ended. Jesse was born in Smith Fork, Kentucky to William and Blena Casey. He was number 20 of 25 children. Jesse was preceded in death by his father William, his mother Blena, daughter Linda Joyce Casey. great-grandson Gunner Langenderfer and 20 of his siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife Rema and celebrated their 69th anniversary on May 14th. Surviving are his children, son Ronald Casey, daughter Pamela Diehl and son-in-law Brad, daughter Judy Garstang and son-in-law Mark all of Red Bluff. He has 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Jesse began working at the age of 15 on a dairy farm to help support his family. At 16 he started working as a coal miner in Kentucky. Jesse worked in the mines for 6 1/2 years. Working for the mines in Kentucky was not for Jesse so he moved his family to Washington and then settled in California in 1951 He retired with Diamond National in Red Bluff as a millwright. Jesse was known for his strong work ethic. Jesse loved Jesus and had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, bowling and raising chickens. His Grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He entertained them with his ability to tell stories and they often begged him to tell just one more story. Jesse never knew a stranger as he could engage conversation with anyone he met. Jesse was a member at High Point Assembly, 625 Luther Rd in Red Bluff. A Celebration of Life service will consist of a viewing at 9:00, followed by a service at 10:00 at High Point. Graveside service at Oak Hill cemetery. For those who wish to attend, there will be a potluck back at High Point after the graveside. To say he will be greatly missed, would not be adequate to express our feelings. Jesse will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
