Harriet Lucile Baluk, age 88, passed away on August 28, 2017. Harriet was born in Bellmore, Long Island, New York on August 14, 1929 to parents: Clara and Harry Brown. She married James Frank Baluk on August 22, 1948 in Bellmore, Long Island, New York. Harriet was primarily a homemaker. After the sudden death of her husband "Jim" Baluk in 1985, she became an employee of the Green Thumb Program. She worked in various government offices as a filing clerk. Her favorite office assignment was the Tehama County Board of Supervisors. She retired at the age of 79. Harriet was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She, also, has been a active member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1991. Harriet is survived by a daughter Evelyn Robertson and her husband, Stephen, of Chico, a son, Russell Baluk and wife Karen, of Red Bluff. She has four grandchildren: Erin Rush and husband, Jon of Austin, TX, Kimberly Robertson of Long Beach, CA, Kristin Baluk of San Diego, CA and Michael Baluk and wife, Audrey, of Red Bluff. She has three great grandchildren; Brendan and Jacie Rush, and Liam Baluk. A service is set for Sunday, October 1 at 3:00 in the afternoon in the Chapel at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers. Donations may be made to the American Legion or any veterans organization of choice. Harriet was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
