

Born in Reading on March 9, 1919, Woody was 6 days shy of his 97th birthday. He was the son of the late Issac and Beulah Moyer.
Woody was a 1937 graduate of Mt. Penn High School. On March 4, 1942, Woody enlisted in the US Army and served during WWII in Central Europe and the Rhineland as a Corporal.
When Woody returned stateside, he was employed with the government working as a Postal Clerk at the former Mt. Penn Post Office until he retired in 1983.
Woody was an avid golfer and bowler and his favorite sports team to watch were the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving is a son, Michael S. Moyer and his wife, Heather N. of Exeter Twp.; two grandsons, Scott M. Moyer and his companion, Jennie of Shillington and Jeffrey C. Moyer and his wife, Shanna of spring Twp. and a sister, Jane Kostaval of Sinking Spring.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Dorothy; Woody is predeceased by three brothers, Stewart, Robert and Leon and two sisters, Dorothy and Mildred.
A graveside service for Woody will be at 2pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Laureldale, PA 19605. Family and friends are requested to meet in the entrance of the cemetery by 1:45pm to form a funeral cortege.
