She was employed by the Reading Hospital for 22 years, retiring from there. Wilma was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Evans and Bridget Evans, both of Reading; two grandchildren, La Charae Brown of Reading and Ashley Evans of Birdsboro; two brothers, Charles Bailey Jr., and his wife, Yvonne, of Shillington, and Arthur Bailey, and his wife, Lois, of Reading; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilma was predeceased by a son, Ernest Evans Jr., and his wife, Vinessa Avar-ese, who survives, of Birdsboro; two sisters, Alma Tonsil and Emma Hill; and brother-in-law, Richard
Tonsil Sr.
A memorial service will be Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 501 S. 18th St., Reading, PA 19602. A gathering will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the church.
