Thomas Scott Button, 75, of Exeter Twp., passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, PA on May 7, 1949, he was a son to the late Winfield Scott Button and Fern (Anderson) Button. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara Ann (Jones) Button; sister Linda McCord and brother John William Button.
Thomas dedicated 38 years as a tow motor operator with Construction Fasteners, until his well-deserved retirement.
Thomas had a passion for old American cars, and his prized possession was his beloved 1957 Chevy. He could often be found at flea markets, toy shows, and car shows, always on the lookout for unique finds and anything related to the world of transportation. Thomas was an avid reader of the newspaper and cherished his daily routine. An avid Elvis fan, he found joy in his music and its timeless melodies.
Above all, Thomas was a family man. He was a loving father and grandfather, always putting his family first. His hardworking nature and dedication to his loved ones were evident in everything he did. He will be missed by all blessed enough to have known him. May his spirit continue to drive us forward, just as he always did with quiet strength and determination.
Thomas' spirit will be carried on by his 2 daughters Trudy Button & Heather Hoover (Jeffrey), all of Exeter Twp.; brother Jeffrey D. Button (Deb); & 4 grandchildren Zachary Hoover (Heather), Anthony Hoover (Casey), Nicholas Button & Jeremiah Button. He also leaves behind his great granddaughter Evie Hoover; 2 step sisters Mary Beamesderfer & Barbara Beamesderfer & his granddog Jeter to cherish his memory.
A viewing for Thomas will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11AM to 1PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 1PM, with Pastor Bruce Osterhout officiating. Inurnment at Forest Hills Memorial Park will be private and at the discretion of Thomas' family.
