Sharon L. Williams, 66, Reading, passed away peacefully in Spruce Manor on Monday, January 11, 2016. She was the loving wife of Clarence Williams. Born in Reading on August 18, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Chester B. and Ethel E. (Hoffman) Weidenhammer.
Sharon was employed with City Hall as a cleaning person for over 10 years. Prior to that, she worked for a chocolate factory as a candy packer for over 20 years and a handbag manufacturer as a seamstress.
She sang in the choir, enjoyed cooking and taking care of children. She is known for her lasagna and banana pudding.
Sharon was a loving, understanding woman and took pride in her family.
In addition to her husband, Clarence, Sharon is survived by a son, Terry L. Weidenhammer, and his wife, Earline, of West Lawn; two step-sons, Clarence Bolig of Reading and Christopher Bolig of MD; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers: Chester Weidenhammer Jr. of Reading, James "Smokey" Weidenhammer of Reading, Kevin Weidenhammer of Exeter Twp. and Frank Weidenhammer of Fleetwood; and two sisters, Janet (Weidenhammer) Best of Reading and Marjorie (Weidenhammer) Snyder of Reading.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is predeceased by a sister, Betty Lou (Weidenhammer) Rahn.
A funeral service for Sharon will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016, in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Sharon will be laid to rest in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
