Ruth Ann Winder, 54, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Milton Hershey Medical Center. Born November 11, 1967 in Ocean City, Maryland she was a daughter to the late Betty Jean Winder.
Ruth's spirit will be carried on by her sister Tina M. Winder, of Reading, PA. She also leaves behind 2 nieces, 4 nephews, 3 great nieces, 2 great nephews and a host of god children to cherish her memory.
In addition to her mother Betty, Ruth was greeted in heaven by her brother Joseph Conley and her sister Rose Marie Winder - Dawkins.
Though she never had any children of her own, Ruth dedicated her life to childcare and worked tirelessly to make every child feel loved and welcomed. She impacted the lives of thousands of children, staff, and colleagues who knew her over the course of her 37 year career at the Reading YMCA.
One of her favorite things to do was shopping. She loved shopping for sneakers and finding a bargain. Ruth also loved collecting BIG tumbler cups with straws, the Baltimore Ravens, reading food blogs and watching cooking shows, especially the CHOP series.
Ruth was a straight to the point individual but with a sweet and gentle spirit. She was soft-spoken, down to earth, and frequently hilarious: her wit was sharp and she had the ability to find humor in most situations. She will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601, followed by a celebration of life service promptly commencing at 3:30 PM, with Rev. Michelle Foster officiating.
