Robert A. Zambanini Sr., age 86, of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania passed away in his home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born in Jerome, Pennsylvania on April 22, 1937, he was the son of the late John Zambanini Sr. and Mary (Palermini) Zambanini.
Robert joined the army in the late 1950's and was stationed in Korea. Upon his discharge from the military, he worked as a machinist for Honeywell, for over 20 years. Robert was also a faithful parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, for 49 years and bass player of the church’s guitar group for over 25 years.
Robert was a very kind, patient, gentle man. He had the ability to concentrate on a task and remain hyper focused until its completion. Robert built his family's home from the ground up, often coming home after a day’s work just to begin working on the house. He was an expert craftsman and to his family's delight, a superb handyman.
He was a musician at heart, with the ability to play many instruments. Robert played the bass guitar, keyboard and the accordion to name a few. He enjoyed hunting, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and exercising. Robert was a member of the YMCA and swam a mile every single day, for years, last swimming in June of 2023. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed American Legion Baseball, as well Boyertown High School’s Baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Robert’s legacy will be carried on through his loving wife, Sylvia, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday September 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 610 Pine St. Bally, PA 19503. A Mass of Christian burial will commence at 11:00 AM, with Monsignor Edward Coyle officiating. Inurnment at Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass.
