Ralph Boettlin

Ralph "Boots" Irvin Boettlin, 94, of Exeter, passed away September 7, 2017 in Berkshire Center. Ralph was born in Reading on September 29, 1922, a son of the late Frank H and Martha E (Halliday) Boettlin.

He was a Reading High School graduate and a member of Reading Hampden Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a Navy Sea Bee Veteran, serving during WWII, and was employed by Car Tech for 38 years, retiring in 1984. Boots was active in Boy Scouts of America for 40 years and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #333 for 33 years. He was active through the years in Lions Club, American Legion, and VFW. Boots was a life time member of Riverside Fire Co. and Reiffton Fire Co.

Surviving are his son, Barry G., and his wife Dorothy Boettlin, of Pottstown; his daughter, Shirley A., and her husband Eric Blackerby, of Exeter, with whom he resided and his son, Kevin S., and his wife Christine Boettlin, of Exeter. There are 10 grandchildren: Scott Boettlin, Kelly Boettlin, Shawn Boettlin, Jolene Windmiller, Jenifer Windmiller, Alison Boettlin, Jason Blackerby, Adrienne Ketterer, Richard Crayton, Cody Crayton and 11 great grandchildren.

Boots was predeceased by his siblings: John Boettlin, Erma Jeznach and Florence Miller.

Services will be Sunday September 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. in Reading Hampden Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2706 Old Pricetown Rd., Temple PA 19560. A viewing will be from 2-3 p.m .in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Auman's Inc.
