2018 at Reading Hospital. He was the son of Vatellus Abraham and Melianise Figaro. He was the husband of Rose Abraham. They would have celebrated 41 years of marriage in January. Rev. Abraham was born in Bennet, Haiti November 12, 1942. He began his service in church at a very young age at St. Paul AME in Port-au-Prince. He would eventually serve as secretary and treasurer at St. Paul. While in Haiti, Rev. Abraham became a 12th grade teacher and also a building inspector for the Haitian government. He attended Maranatha Theological school and attained his ministerial license. He was ordained as deacon and elder in the AME church by Bishop Wayman Blakely. He went on to serve as secretary of the 16th District Haiti Conference.
In 1971, Rev. Abraham came to the United States under the sponsorship of Rev. Vibert L. White, Pastor of St. James AME in Chambersburg, PA. During annual conference of that year, Pastor White was transferred to Bethel AME in Reading PA. Rev. Abraham in lieu of going to Chambersburg, came to Reading, PA and joined Bethel AME. During his time at Bethel Rev. Abraham served as associate pastor from 1971 to the present. He served the community and church with integrity and humility. Rev. Abraham always had a joyful spirit and it could be felt by all he encountered.
Rev. Abraham worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Reading, PA as a Histopathology Technician. He was loved by many throughout all the departments at St Joseph. Rev. Abraham worked and impacted lives at St. Joseph for over 40 years and retired in December 2013.
Rev. Abraham is survived by his loving wife Rose; children Emmy, Stesha, and Vladimir; son in law Kofi; grandchildren Tyrell and Micah; sister Millicent ;niece Vanessa and extended family.
Services will be Saturday January 5, 2019 at 10am in Bethel AME Church, 330 W Windsor St Reading A 19601. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
