Phyllis Cherie Collins

Phyllis C. Collins born in Reading, Pa December 25, 1951 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Lulabell (Davis) and Samuel L. Sanders. She was a graduate of Reading High School and McCann School of Business with a master’s degree.

Phyllis worked for Aetna Insurance Company for several years then transitioned to Santander Bank where she worked faithfully until her retirement.

Phyllis was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church. She was baptized at an early age and was a part of the Youth Church, Junior Ushers, Youth Chior. Then as an adult worked with Vacation Bible School, Union Baptist Chorus, Christmas and Easter Plays and wherever she was needed.

Phyllis loved family. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a person who showed her love for everyone young and old. She could make you smile or laugh with just the expression on her face.

Phyllis believed in sharing so she often took the time to share her knowledge to all who would listen. Phyllis was “THE FRONT STREET LEGEND”.

She loved shopping, eating, sports, especially the Steelers, she would bleed the black and gold. Don’t mess with her Steelers

Phyllis leaves to carry the light 2 daughters, Danita Sanders and Shannon Sanders; 6 grandchildren; Day-vionee Sanders, Jah-Kare Sanders, Toz-Mir Delgado, Ah-Janae Criddell, Bruce Criddell Jr., Kah-Mil Rodney; and 4 great-grandchildren; Aniley Sanders, Layliana Cintron, Keh-Lani Sanders, and Ja’Laya Moye and a host of relatives and close family friends who will miss her dear.

A viewing for Phyllis will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Theo C Auman Inc, 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601. Following the viewing will be a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 noon in Theo C Auman, 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601.

Phyllis will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
