Maria A. Feliciano, 76, of Reading, PA passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born on August 2, 1946 in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico she was a daughter to the late Inocencia (Cruz) Cartagena and Ignacio Cartagena.
Maria was a CNA (certified nursing assistant) for much of her working life, with over 50 years invested in caring for others; working at virtually all the nursing homes in Berks County.
Maria was the first to lend a hand, a meal, a ride, or help anyone in need. She never failed to stand out in a crowd with a head of fiery red hair and a personality to match. She made a point to impart her fun-loving, free spirit with everyone she met. She was an outgoing, proud, and fiercely independent woman who had a passion for thoroughbred horse racing, shopping, going out to eat at new restaurants and finding any reason to throw a party. She truly enjoyed hosting parties and feeding whoever showed up to the house; the more, the merrier!
However, above all else she truly treasured the relationship she had with her sisters and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, loyalty, and devotion that will never be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her.
Maria's spirit will be carried on by her 3 adult children Vanessa Wilson, Alexis Ramos and Josue Ramos; her 4 siblings Emma Solar, Carmelou Cotton, Teofilo Cartagena and Cholo Cartagena. Maria also leaves behind 6 grandchildren Stephanie, Noel, Samantha, Johnathan, David, Nene and 10 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Feliciano Solar and her daughter Zendy Feliciano.
A viewing for Maria will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM; prayer services from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Rev. Dale Twig officiating and final viewing hours from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601.
