Linda worked various jobs throughout her life, including but not limited to: A Thrift Store manager, custodian at City Hall in Reading and last working as a Deli Clerk with Giant Food Stores, until her retirement.
Linda displayed a strong interest in old school music, dancing, horror movies and was an avid reader of Stephen King novels. She enjoyed going shopping, getting dressed up and in her younger years, swimming and going to parks with her family.
Linda was a true Gemini. On the one side, she was joyful person who was always willing to help anyone in need; while on the other side she was a force to be reckoned with. Her soft, sensitive soul was seen only to animals and those who were in her inner circle. People in her outer circle saw a woman full of life, laughter and sometimes full of attitude. Linda will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Linda's spirit will be carried on by her 3 adult children Loretta Barberee, Jolene DeCarr and James Settle Jr., all of Reading, PA. Linda also leaves behind 5 grandchildren Leanna, Sky, Charles, Taylor, Aidan; 8 great grandchildren Kiata, Kaidance, Keith, Katiah, Kadin, Cameron, Angeline Julius and beloved granddog Nala to cherish her memory.
In addition to her grandparents, Linda was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband James Settle Sr. whom passed on November 29, 1998; her 2 grandsons Blake Settle and Robert DeCarr Jr. and her beloved granddogs Ozzy, Nunuk, and Boomer.
Family and friend will gather Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601, followed by a celebration of life service at 4:00 PM, with Sheryl Manzella officiating.
