Kenneth L. Polley, Jr., 88, of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Kenneth was predeceased by the love of his life, Grace P. (Durkin) Polley. He was born in Scranton, PA. on October 20, 1934, the son of the late Kenneth L. Sr. and Jule (Hughes) Polley.
Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during peacetime and was a 1952 Scranton Central High School graduate and a 1956 University of Scranton graduate in BS. He was a faithful member of St. Margaret's RCC in Reading and was a claims supervisor for 37 1/2 years retiring in 1996. Ken vacationed with his family in Stone Harbor, N.J., for fifty plus years. He was a little league coach and referee for NWAA. He loved to read, play golf, root for the Flyers, Phillies, and NY Giants and was a frequent letter writer to the Reading Eagle. "Mr. Polley was a student of the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies".
Kenneth is survived by his 6 children; Marie J Lakatos; Anne (Polley) and her husband Kenneth Thomason, Jr., Elizabeth "Betsy" (Polley) and her husband Ronald Paine, Joan M. (Polley) and her husband Kenneth Esterly, Jr. , Michael K. Polley, and Doris C. (Polley) McGee and her husband Thomas McGee, Jr., 10 grandchildren; Brian, Kacy, Samantha, Sydney, Olivia, Chase, Madison, Macy, Wendy and Steve and 5 great grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded by his 3 sisters; Sister M. St. Kenneth Polley, Joan (Polley) Johnson, Janet Polley and his son-in-law, Robert Lakatos.
A Viewing will be Monday February 13, 2023 from 6-8pm in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd Reiffton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday February 14, 2023 11am in St. Margaret's RCC, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601
Kenneth will be laid to rest in Laureldale Cemetery.
