Judy Jane Lewis, 79, of Reading, PA passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. Born in Norristown, PA on January 15, 1945, she was a daughter to the late Paul Adamson and Elizabeth (Cory) Adamson. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Lewis; who passed away in 1999.
Judy was a proud graduate of The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, and dedicated over four decades to the noble profession of nursing. Her career path took her through various institutions, each one benefiting from her expertise, but it was at Reading Hospital where she concluded her remarkable journey, retiring after years of dedicated service.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Judy lent her support to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County, Newcomers Club and the Women's Social Club of Berks County.
In her leisure time, Judy enjoyed engaging in a friendly game of cards, getting lost in the pages of a good book, embarking on trips to Houston, and taking a dip in the swimming pool. As an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, she cheered on her team with unwavering loyalty, adding excitement to many game days.
Judy's essence was one of warmth and resilience. Her sense of humor and sharp intellect endeared her to all who crossed her path. Judy had the remarkable ability of seeing the silver lining in every situation, never uttering a complaint and always found something kind to say. She faced life's adversities with unwavering strength, never losing sight of the importance of love, gratitude and positivity.
Judy will be missed by all blessed enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.
Judy's spirit will be carried on by her daughter Kelli Lewis, of Wyomissing, PA; son Adam Lewis and his wife Alicia, of Houston, TX and her sister Sally Gillespie. She also leaves behind 4 grandsons Gavin, Griffin, Grayson and Graham Lewis to cherish her memory.
Services will be private and at the discretion of Judy's family.
