Iesha Denisse Colon, 29, of Steelton, PA entered eternal rest unexpectedly on Friday, March 24, 2023. Born in Allentown, PA on January 21, 1994, she was a cherished daughter to Myrna Damaris Martinez and Juan Galarza.
Iesha loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, traveling, cooking, a good game of pool and being one with nature.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Rosemont College and then a Master of Arts in family and marriage counseling from National University.
Iesha devoted her life to helping others, and always made room in her heart for needy children, families or anyone who was hurting, lost or feeling abandoned. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service, something she showed not just to her family, but also to the foster children she loved as her own and the children she watched over as a social worker.
Iesha's warm and caring heart, combined with her fearless, bold, confident, focused, intelligent, and hilarious personality is part of what enabled her to be a rock for so many people, the someone everyone needed. She lived her life with a fierce, driven, confident independence. Iesha may have been small, but she had the presence of a 10" giant. She will be missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Iesha's spirit will be carried on by her mother Myrna Damaris Martinez, her dad Juan Galarza, her biological father Alberto Colon, and her 3 siblings Samantha Marie Colon, Christopher Joel Colon and Amanda Janalis Colon. Iesha also leaves behind 2 nieces and 2 nephews to cherish her memory.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 1:30 PM, with Father Juan Rodriguez officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
