Frank Farina, 92, passed away June 17, 2016, in his Reading residence. His loving wife, Anna F. (Pieri) Farina, passed away on November 30, 1981. He was born in Reading on June 6, 1924, a son of the late Steafno and Geneffa (Capalano) Farina.
Frank was an Army veteran serving during WWII and was a member of the former St. Anthony of Padua.
He was employed by Birdsboro Steel in the maintenance department for 28 years, retiring in 1979.
He leaves behind his daughter, Marylou, and her husband, John Haynes, of Sinking Spring; and his son, William Farina, of Reading; 6 grandchildren: John Haynes Jr., William Kremp, Marihelene Haynes, Sonya Kremp, Lauren Oswald and Christopher Farina.
There are 4 great-grandchildren: Journee Haynes, Sebastian Haynes, Justice Haynes and Ella Oswald.
Prayer services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mahanoy City. A viewing will be Monday, June 27, 2016, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 4383, Bethlehem, PA 18018, in honor of his wife, Anna.
