Dorothy R Henry

Dorothy R. Henry, 101, of Venice, Fla., previously of Lebanon, Myerstown and Reading, Pa., as well as New Bern, N.C., during WWII, passed away January 30, 2017, in Luke Haven Nursing Facility, in Venice, Fla.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond W. Henry, in 1976. Dorothy was born in Shillington on December 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Howard B. and Sally (Wieder) Reed.

She was a Reading High School Graduate and a book keeper for the Reading School District before having a family.

Her church affiliations include: Emanuel Lutheran Church, Venice, Fla., and previously Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, and St. James Church, Reading, Pa.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Judith R. Jackson, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandsons, Patrick B. Jackson (Melissa Faye), Cincinnati, and Ryan H. Jackson, (Melissa Rose), Cincinnati; great-grandchildren: Madeline, Elsie, Caden, and Ava; and her sister, Betty Swavely, of Venice, Fla.

Services will be Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 12 noon in Auman's, Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading. Burial to follow in forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be 11:30 a.m. -12 noon in the funeral home.
