Doris Ann (Mock) Angstadt, 85, of Reading, passed away peacefully at the Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, August 18, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late George R. Angstadt, Jr. Mr. Angstadt passed away last year on August 19th.
Born in Reading on January 27, 1931, Doris was a daughter of the late Warren and Mildred A. (Cover) Mock. Doris was a 1948 Reading High School graduate. She was a member of the former St. Peter UM Church, Reading.
In her younger years, she was employed with Luden’s making candy but left that job to be a full time mother. She raised her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them. Later in life, she returned to the work force by taking employment with Boscov’s North as a gift wrapper for over ten years.
Surviving are three sons, George R. Angstadt, III and his wife, Diane D. of Ephrata, Jeffrey S. Angstadt and his wife, Patricia A. of Reading and Steven R. Angstadt and his wife, Christine M. of Exeter Twp.; a daughter, Jill (Angstadt) Jules-Fick and her husband, Charles A. of Reading; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, George, Jr.; Doris is predeceased by a sister, Marie E. (Mock) Witwer and a grandson, Michael Jules Sternberg.
Services for Doris are private and at the convenience of the family. Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with the arrangements.
