Donald Wayne Miller, 91, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was the lovingly husband of Helen M. "Dolly" (Lutz) Miller. The couple married on December 24, 1950, sharing 67 years of marriage.
Born in Hyde Park on August 2, 1926, he was a son of the late Harvey and Beulah (Rice) Miller. He is the last remaining meme er of his immediate family.
He was a US Army veteran and served for four years before returning stateside.
Donald was employed as a custodian with the Muhlenberg School District for several years. Prior to that, he was employed with Grace Mine and Rosedale Knitting Mills.
He was a member of the Goodwill Fire Company and the White Deer Gun Club. He loved fishing and hunting.
Donald was a pitcher with the Rising Sun Hotel a Softball Team and later in life, he was pitching coach for girls softball in Muhlenberg Twp.
In addition to his wife, Dolly, Donald is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and his seven brothers: Mark, Elsworth, Pershing "Peach", Calvin, Lawson "Pip", Harvey and his twin, Harold Miller and two sisters: Mary Jane Miller and Lucy (Miller) Juliano.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Monday, March 26, 2018 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A viewing will be in the funeral home on Monday from 10 to 11am. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
