Denise (Gallas) Hoffmann, age 67, of West Lawn, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at her residence. Born February 26, 1953 in West Reading, she was the cherished daughter to the late Louis X. and Pauline (Zeppos) Gallas.
Denise was a U.S Army veteran and a graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education. She worked as a telephone operator for Verizon for over 10 years.
Denise was a lifelong member of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Wyomissing and was actively involved in the Philoptochos Society.
Denise loved traveling to different parts of the U.S and around the world, learning about different cultures, and meeting new people. She was an avid gardener, who loved planting zinnia flowers and enjoyed painting in water colors.
A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart too big to describe, Denise’s kindness and truly compassionate nature, touched all blessed enough to know her. Her family all of whom loved her dearly will never forget her strength, candor, beauty, goodwill and her undying love for them.
Denise's spirit will be carried on by her husband, Timothy Hoffmann; three sisters Athena Coste and her husband Robert, of Ocean City, NJ; Joanna Baghsarian and her husband Rev. Gomidas, of Cranston, RI; Maria Gallas-Berberides and her husband Kosta Berberides, of Crete, Greece; 2 Brother-in laws Jeff Hoffmann and his wife Pamela, of Reading; Tracy Hoffmann and his wife Linda, of Reading; sister-in-law Pamela Hoffmann- Spotts and her husband Mark, of Robesonia; 10 nieces and nephews, Athena Kanarian and her husband Richard, Armen Baghsarian and his wife Lusine, Adam Coste, Jordan Coste and his wife Julia, Sophia Coste, Alexandra Coste, Victoria Berberides, Georgia Berberides, Casey Hoffmann, Ryan Hoffmann and his wife Lorie and Great nephew Benjamin Hoffmann. Denise also leaves behind her aunt Shirley Zeppos, of Reading; and several cousins to cherish her memory.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Theo C. Auman Inc., Reading. A viewing will be held in Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611, Thursday, July 09, 2020, from 12 p.m to 1 p.m. Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m with Father Theodore Petrides officiating. Interment will follow at in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W Neversink Rd. Reading, PA 19606. In accordance with CDC guidelines, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing and face masks are required in the church.
