Denise Elizabeth (Bratton) Clark, 83, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Berks Heim. Born in Reading, PA on February 17, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Paul C. Bratton and June M. (Gehring) Friel.
Denise was a proud graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1958. After graduation, she embarked on a career as a secretary at Western Electric, in Reading. Denise later worked as an administrative assistant at Antietam High School for 20 years. In addition to her tenure at Antietam, Denise also worked at Boscov's East, where she spent 20 years as a bridal consultant, helping countless couples prepare for their special day.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Penn, where she was involved in the church choir. Her love for music extended beyond the church walls, as she was an avid supporter of the Reading Symphony Orchestra, holding season tickets and attended performances regularly; these outings brought her immense joy.
Denise was also a practitioner of Tai Chi, finding peace and balance through its gentle movements.In addition to her many interests, she cherished her time at the beach, finding serenity in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed enough to have known her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
In addition to her parents, Denise was greeted in heaven by her sister Sandy Scolastico, her husband Gary L. Clark; her daughter Colleen C. (Clark) Loy; and her great grandchild Margot V. Volkman.
Denise's spirit will be carried on by her son Scott K. Clark, of Virginia Beach, VA; son Gregory J. Clark (Susan), of Reading, PA; daughter Kelly E. (Clark) Geniott (Michael), of Lake Wales, FL; brother Kenneth Friel and sister Jeanne Gring. She also leaves behind son-in-law David A. Loy (Doreen), of Lynchburg, VA; 10 grandchildren Meghan C. (Clark) Volkman (Zach),of Virginia Beach, VA, Abigail C. Clark, of Williamsburg, VA, Griffin S. Clark, of Raleigh, NC, Erin E. (Loy) Underwood (Richard), of San Antonio, TX, Chelsea M. (Loy) Bates (Josh),of Richmond, VA, Graham T. Loy (Mason), of Appomatox,VA, Daniel P. Clark, of Reading, PA, Dillon J. Clark,of Saginaw,MI, Caleb C. Geniott,of Seattle,WA, Jacob C. Geniott, Lake Wales,FL; her long-time companion Carl A. Rienecker, of Reading, PA and 3 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Funeral services will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Stephanie Roth officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
