Darren "Shorty" Deangelo Chisolm, 50, of Spring Twp., passed away in his home. He was the loving fiancé of Ivette Pizarro, of West Reading. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., on February 23, 1966, he was a son of the late Willie James Sr. and Hattie Mae (Eady) Chisolm.
Shorty was a 1984 graduate of Reading High School. After graduation, he joined the US Navy and served until 1992. Shorty was employed with UGI as a first responder for over 19 years.
Shorty enjoyed dancing and fishing. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and was a member of the Iron Men Association. Most of all, he was known as a family man. He loved his family and he loved children.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his fiancé, Ivette Pizarro; his daughter, Shana J. Chisolm, of Shillington; a brother, Willie J. Chisolm Jr., of Reading; three sisters: Debbie L. (Chisolm) and her husband, Kenneth McLendon Sr., of Reading; Laponza D. (Chislom) and her husband, Cam Carlisle, of Reading; and Carla A. (Chisolm) and her husband, Clifford Speaks, of West Lawn; and an uncle, Jessie Eady, of Reading.
Home Going services will be Friday at 4 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Inurnment will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
