Carmen Olga Rodriguez, 78, of Spring Township, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on November 8, 1945, she was a daughter to the late Santiago Torres and Virginia (Gonzalez) Torres.
Carmen was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, earned her Associate's Degree in Applied Science from RACC and worked as a secretary with The Reading School District for 17 years; until her retirement in 2011.
Carmen will be fondly remembered for her impeccable manners and refined elegance. As a mother to 3 boys, she instilled in them the values of integrity, kindness, and respect, shaping them into the honorable men they became.
Carmen found joy in the art of sewing and embroidery, possessed a flair for hospitality that was unparalleled, knew how to set a table with grace and charm and her culinary skills were unmatched. But perhaps Carmen's greatest gift was her capacity to love unconditionally. Her jovial nature and loving spirit endeared her to all who knew her.
One of Carmen's most endearing qualities was her ability to bring joy and love into any room. Her infectious laughter, with its countless variations, could brighten even the darkest of days. However above all else, Carmen's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved sisters and brothers. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the enduring power of love and kinship.
Carmen's life was a testament of strength, resilience, and unwavering courage. Despite battling both breast cancer and lung cancer, she approached each day with tenacity and never lost her sense of grace or infectious spirit. Her remarkable strength in overcoming these adversities served as an inspiration to all blessed enough to have known her.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Carmen. Your light will never fade, and your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
Carmen's spirit will be carried on by her 3 sons Miguel Luis Rodriguez and his wife Melissa, David Elliot Rodriguez and his fiancé Letica Soto and Christopher Rafe Rodriguez and his wife Michelle. She also leaves behind her 5 siblings Santiago Torres, Luis Torres, Blanca Torres, Gricel Torres and Monica Lash-Torres; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
