Candida Cintron, 85, of Reading, PA passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born October 17, 1936 in Yabucoa,Puerto Rico she was a daughter to the late Ruperto Cintron and Adela Ortiz.
Candida was as a loving wife, an amazing mother, doting grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a wonderful friend who also possessed a deep devotion to her faith. Her faith in God never wavered during any trial or storm. She had a humble heart for serving others and helped care for the elderly through her 15 years as a home health aide, with the Welfare Department in Puerto Rico.
Candida was the true definition of a "Jill of all trades". She could practically build anything with her bare hands, aided in the constriction of her home, helped on the family farm with raising livestock, harvested fruits and vegetables and organized/participated in local political canvassing and rallies. Candida also had a passion for cooking and sewing. She prided herself in being a perfectionist as a seamstress, making all types of clothing for family and friends.
A spirited "social butterfly", Candida loved family gatherings, parties, 'Chinchorreo' and just being around people. She loved to chat, laugh, play dominoes, card games, and enjoy everyone's company.
Candida leaves behind a loving legacy with her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Candida's spirit will be carried on by her 4 daughters Mildred Soto, Elsa Aponte, Melba Aponte, Maria D. Ruiz; her sister Luisa Cintron Ortiz; her 10 grandchildren Zenia Livingston Ruiz, Juan Velazquez Ruiz, Sara Valazquez Ruiz, Ricardo Fuentes, Veronica Fuentes, Olga Iris Soto, John Anthony Soto, Mario Oscar Sobrino, Ian Gabriel Sobrino, Irina C. Del Valle; her 6 great grandchildren Meghan Livingston, Cecily Livingston, Logan Livingston,Karelys Velazquez, Ja'Lynn A. Torres and Dajalyse E. Natal. She also leaves behind 2 great great grandchildren Amarilyse Iris Torres and Messiah Z. Saintkitts to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Candida was greeted in heaven by her husband Martin Aponte; daughter Aracelis Ruiz; her 3 brothers Francisco Cintron, Bienvenido Cintron, Jose Cintron and her 2 sisters Maria Cintron Ortiz and Petra Cintron Ortiz.
