Annie Stell Ingram, 92, of Temple, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Born on May 11, 1932, in the sweet southern town of Opelika, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Lee Haynes and Fannie Lou (Thomas) Haynes.
In addition to her parents, Annie was welcomed into heaven by her husband of 50 years, Cleve Ingram Jr., who passed away on September 9, 1989, as well as her 4 daughters: April Ingram, Dorothy Ann McFee, Elaine M. Alexander, and Juanita Lynette Florence. She was also reunited with her 4 siblings, Robert Haynes, Milton Haynes, Earnestine Towles, and Mary Jean Doleman.
Annie’s life was as rich and full as the food she loved to cook—especially those famous sweet potato pies that had everyone fighting for the last bite. When it came to cooking, she was a legend in her own right. For 30 years, she served as a cafeteria worker at Laurer’s Park Elementary School, always greeting each child with a smile, earning a reputation for her kindness and dedication until her well-deserved retirement.
A woman of faith, Annie was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church in Opelika where she grew up and later became a member of Holy Trinity Church of God, in Reading. She was also a regular attender of Spring Valley Church of God, where she found great joy and comfort in worship.
Annie had a few favorite pastimes that brought her the most joy: BINGO, needlepoint, going to amusement parks, traveling and taking vacations to the New Jersey and Maryland boardwalks, watching Philadelphia sports games on TV, impromptu shopping trips to Boscov’s, and clipping coupons, ensuring she never paid full price for anything. She had a knack for making sure everyone in the family felt special—and that meant socks. If she gave you socks at Christmas, you knew you’d officially made it into the family.
Above all, Annie loved taking care of and raising her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found immense joy in watching them grow and being an ever-present source of love and support. A woman of few words, Annie’s actions spoke volumes. She was quiet, gentle, humble, and infinitely generous. She was the glue that held her family together, a matriarch in the truest sense.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Annie. You will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known you.
Annie's spirit will be carried on by her son Shawn Ingram, of Temple, PA; her daughter Loretta Woollery, of Mebane, NC; her 4 siblings: Charlie Haynes, William Haynes, Geraldine Haynes-Davis and Valerie Booth. Annie also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
A viewing for Annie will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Rd., Temple, PA 19560. Home going service will promptly commence in church at 10:00 AM. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
