I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Revis. I did not know him personally but was a student at Reading Schools while he was Superintendent of the school district. It is a shock that Mr. Revis passed away. I feel like it was just yesterday he was in his offices at the either the high school or over at the Board of Education. The community of Reading has lost a true gentleman. May his friends and family find comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is in a better place right now even though he is sadly missed here on Earth

I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing.  I coached freshman basketball under Bill at Harrison High School in 1964-65.  For a new teacher/ coach, he was a nurturing roll model. I often saw Bill later at Reading High School sporting events when my children were competeing at Indian Hill.  He was the consumate gentlemen and I am sorry he really never knew what a positive impact he had on my life as a parent and business man.  My sincere condolences to Bill's family.

To the Revis family, I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Revis.  I will always cherish the memories I have of his days at Harrison High School and as a neighbor on Elaine Drive.

I always treasured my memories of Mr. Revis, my RHS principal who caught me smoking in the teachers lounge and let me off the hook-what I knew was that he loved kids and led with that caring.  What a treasure to have had him as a family member or friend-I was lucky to be on the receiving end of his good humor and caring.

As one who knew Mr. Revis in his days in Harrison as a teacher, coach, and counselor I benefited from that experience.  As a teacher he was interesting, challenging and encouraging.  He had a very positive influence in my life and many more of the lives he touched.  I offer you my sympathy in your loss and hope that the many who share your grief will ease your sadness somewhat. Revis Family, I am very sorry to hear of Coach Revis' passing. He was my high school basketball coach from 1957-61. He was an outstanding coach and a great teacher and was one of the most positive role models in my life. I wish I had taken the opportunity to tell him how much I appreciated his interest in me as a person and his positive influence on my life.

 The guidance I received from this great teacher and coach has helped me in all aspects of my life since graduating from Harrison. He will be missed and remembered forever.

This is Bev Schmidt from North Carolina again...I was hoping my GB entry did not go thru...however I did make a mistake on my dates at RHS, who knows what I was thinking???  But, I graduated in 1970, student from 1966 to 1970!

Grandpa Bill was an amazing man who left quite a legacy.  I will always remember how special christmas's were growing up. Grandpa you will be missed you were an great man.

To Bill Revis' Family...the best gift I can give you is in sharing my memory of him...he was principal of RHS all through my 4 years there (1969-1973).  He was always crisply and well dressed, very handsome, seemed to me to be very tall and opposing yet I never heard him raise his voice nor show anything but a smile and a willingness to listen and problem solve - he and Mr. Booth made an awesome administrative duo that would be hard to match today!  I had and have so much respect for him, and feel confident that you as his family know how blessed you were to have him in your lives.  Let's celebrate the special being he was and feel fortunate he was given so many vital years to spread his goodness around to so many!!!

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. I was fortunate to have taught at Reading High when Bill Revis was principal. I admire the job he did and appreciate his support over those years.

MY sincere condolences to the Revis family. As a member of Reading City Council, and as a parent of 6 children, 5 of whom graduated from Reading, I had the great opportunity to work with Bill, both as a parent, and as a city official. He was a loving administrator, who cared about the Reading kids almost as much as his own. May he rest in the peace of the Lord.

I remember trying memorize the Gettysburg address for a 7th grade social studies class. I was struggling remembering some of the lines and frustrated to tears. My father made me read each line and after each sentence he would ask me what President Lincoln was trying to say. He taught me not just how to memorize but more importantly the meaning of speech. His passion at 10:00pm was something I will always remember.

Mr. Revis was my favorite HS teacher/advisor at W. H. Harrison High School. My senior year he suggested that I take a current events course rather than home economics. Very forward thinking for a man advising a young girl 50 years ago. My sincerest sympathy goes to his family.

Everyone goes in so many different directions. However, without having had a director, where would we be? If we have learned anything, we have learned what top down management means in our lives. Mr. Revis Sr. served our country and served all of us at Reading High. Never can I recall seeing him walking the halls, what he may have called out of uniform, when he was not in a pressed shirt and tie. He was always exceedingly distinguished and poised as he shook the hand of every one of us when he handed us our diploma on graduation. The time I always remember most of my grandpa is when my grandpa, Pat, my sister Katey and I went to see the toy railroad tracks in downtown. He also took us to visit Santa that same day. Although I am  much older now, that day will always hold a very special place in my heart.  The smell of their house on Christmas day, the air filled with the smell of his pipe tobacco,that was always the best.  I love you Grandpa, I will see Grandma and you again someday

Revis Family:  So sorry to hear of Mr. Revis passing on.  He was the superintendent of Reading Schools when I was at Reading High School and he also grew up next door to my mother Pearl Riouff.  My mother often told me of how wonderful the Revis family was and that Vivian was her best friend.  When my father passed away, my mother needed a job desparately and Mr. Revis came through for her.  We lived next to the school on Jefferson and Mechanic and my mother never learned to drive so she needed something she could walk to.  I called Mr. Revis and told him of our circumstance and he hired my mother to work in the cafeteria.  She loved it.  So our enitre Martin family holds Mr. Revis in the greatest esteem for helping our mother and our family.  

He will be missed tremendously.  My deepest sympathy.

It is with sadness that I read of the death of Mr. Revis this morning. He was principal of Reading High School while I was a student there. I will always remember his ready smile and kind words. But most of all, I am forever grateful for the interest he took in me. At a time when I wasn't doing well in school, he stepped in. His guidance and encouragement helped me to get where I am today. Thank you Mr. Revis. You will be truly missed.
