I was a student of William Pletzer from the fall of 1954 through my graduation from Silver Lake School in the spring of 1956.  I was recently asked who my favorite teacher was, the answer was that Mr. Pletzer was the best ever.  I had some gifted teachers from four years of prep school and four years at MIT.   

I am only sorry that at some point I didn't try to use the internet to find him years ago and tell him of my high regard.  Should anyone in the family see my comments, I would be happy to contacted to share my remembrances.  My email is vegasbob13@gmail.com.

Bill combined the best of a teacher and administrator. He left an indelible mark on the Hudson School System but most importantly on the students he was charged with.  He was a model for my two sons and a friend to Barbara and I.  God Bless You Mr. Pletzer

Mr. Pletzer was the principal at our elementary and the superintendent of our schools.  His impact on the young people in Hudson was huge.  My life is better for having been in an educational environment under his kind spirit and keen intellect.

Our condolances to the whole Pletzer family.   Bill Pletzer was a friend over a short period of time, during the late 70's into the mid-90's.   The length of our friendship was long enough, though, to know he was a very special man.   Bill gave Hudson about 21 years of service, and ended his career by serving eight years as the Superintendant of Schools in Hudson.   Our prayers and love to the family, and memory of Bill Pletzer.

Bill Pletzer was my 7th and 8th grade teacher at  Silver Lake Elementary School.  He was loved by all of us.  I have fond memories of having to make an electron magnet and we all had to make a light bulb with iron filings and a filament.  It had to light up for a full minute to earn an A. Mr.Pletzer loved geography..  He would pull down the large map and start using his pointer…and we were expected be able to identify anything on the map.  He was well ahead of his time by actively involving his students with hands-on learning.  .  What an amazing example he modeled for us. Years later, while teaching first grade in Kent, I had the privilege of working with his daughter, Sue.  It seemed like life had come full circle.  I hope his family continues to feel the love and joy he brought to so many
