Upon returning home, he successfully completed a comprehensive course of Electronics Technology from the United Electronics Institute. He began a career at Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant in 1976 and retired after 32 years.

Also left to mourn are his God-child nephew Andrew (Deanna) Mize, great nieces Katie and Brooklyn, great nephew Joshua, step grandchildren Bryce, Alliya, and Zachary Pickett and sister-in-law Marie Rice.
