She was born May 9, 1924, in Bellaire, Ohio, to parents Harold Martin and Beulah Viola (Bigler) Baker. She was affectionately known as Maxine to her family and friends. Maxine graduated from St. Clairsville High School.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. Maxine was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed going shopping and talking with her sisters on the phone.
Maxine is survived by her daughter Susan (Bill) Madlem, her grandchildren: Billy Madlem, Stephanie Madlem, Theresa Garvin, and Chuck Garvin, as well as her great-grandchildren: Natalie, Shannon, and Charlie.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Garvin, her son Michael Garvin, and her siblings: Geraldine Neff, Genevieve Rude, Marilyn West, Carol Luli, and Harold Baker.
Her wishes for cremation are being honored. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Grandview Memorial Park.
