Tom worked for the past 9 years with the 371st Minimum Care Detachment Unit, US Army Reserve Base in Twinsburg, Ohio, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his military career, Sgt. Penn worked at the Press of Ohio in Brimfield. He enjoyed family activities, movies, race cars, computers, and model planes and cars.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years Dawn (Pipoly) Penn and devoted daughter Nicole. He is the loving son of Sid and the late Roberta (Kolk) Penn, dear brother of Bryan (Rachell) Penn. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and friends will be received Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. A memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 6, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
