He was born February 8, 1959, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Samuel James Baker and Mary Louise Summers. Steve graduated from Ravenna High School in 1977 and then attended Kent State University.
Steve was a talented musician, and was a member of many well-known bands including: the Tommy Dorsey Band, the O Jays, and North Star. Later, he became the primary bugle player for the VFW 1055 Honor Guard.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by many loving friends including: Crystal Summerlin, fiancé, Walt Andrus, Annette Grodecki-Stone, Kelly Rogers, Beth Clark and Pat Williams.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the VFW Post 1055, 6000 New Milford Rd., Ravenna.
