Stella Ruth Thomas

She was born December 28, 1952, in Ashland, Kentucky, to parents William “Chewy” and Dolores Jean (Grace) Clark. Stella graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1971 and then attended Kent State University. Stella worked with Hattie Larlham for nearly 34 years in different positions throughout the organization.

Family always came first in Stella’s life. She loved hosting Saturday night family dinners and holiday dinners, especially Christmas. She would also meet monthly with her friends in the Granny Club for lunch, dinner, or a show. Above all, she was a caring person who was always willing to help others.

Stella is survived by her beloved husband Dave Thomas, who she married October 23, 1971. She is also survived by her children: Stacy (Rob Brooks) Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Scott (Jennifer) Thomas, Shelly (fiancé Andy Zellefrow) Branch, and Patrick (Aimie) Thomas, her 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Joe, Gerald, David, Betty, and Randy.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law Sean Branch, her brother James “Buddy”, and her sister Kathy.

Her wishes for cremation are being honored. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Laurie Metzko at 2:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
