Scott F. Strader

Scott was born to parents James “Jim” and Shirley (Maddy) Strader on October 29, 1959 in Akron, Ohio.

He graduated from Waterloo High School with the class of 1978 where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. After high school, Scott entered the United States Air Force and faithfully served as a missile technician for seven years. Upon his discharge, he moved to California where he enjoyed a 15 year career working at NASA in the jet propulsion lab. Scott then moved back to Randolph, working at Country Pure Foods for a while before retiring. Scott loved farming and the farm was his “Happy Place”.

He was a hardworking, good son and brother. His family will miss him dearly.

Scott is survived by his father Jim Strader and his siblings Donald (Kathy) Strader, Dave Strader and Nancy (John) Cundiff. He also leaves his many nieces, nephews, and special friends Terry and Ruth Doan.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2022.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 11:00am until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor John Burton, beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.

Donations can be sent in his name to his family to offset final expenses.
