Roy Clayton Godfrey

He was born March 7, 1923, in Burnsville, West Virginia, to parents Walter David and Clara Belle (Ocheltree) Godfrey. Roy proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a 32° member of Willoughby Lodge 0302 and also a Shriner. Roy enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing cards, especially euchre.

Roy is survived by his three daughters: Patricia McGrath, Joyce Collins, and Ginny (Terry Miesle) Godfrey. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Carmen (Jodie) Scalfaro, Daniel (Jenny) Scalfaro, Bill (Gwen) Collins, Lisa Scalfaro, Michelle (John) Gill, and Joseph (Melinda) Scalfaro, as well as his 11 great-grandchildren, and his brother Ronald (Sharon) Godfrey.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth (Wagner) Godfrey and son-in-law Jack McGrath.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Graveside services will be officiated by Reverend Wayne Enders at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Hillside Cemetery Chapel in Randolph.
