He was born December 13, 1927, in Cazenovia, New York. Robert proudly served his country as a member of the US Coast Guard during WWII and the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a decorated veteran, earning many service medals, including three Purple Heart medals.
Robert moved to Kent in 1944 to start a construction company and was involved with construction sales. In 1967, he founded Ohio International Raceway, which hosted the first sidecar race in the United States. Robert was also the founder of Portage Trim in 1982 and retired in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Kathy (Coats) Mosher in 1986. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Scott) Miller of Ravenna and his son Christopher (Candice) Mosher of Shalersville, as well as his grandchildren: Allie (Jeremiah) Allen, Mallory Mosher, Emma Sturgeon, and Dicey Miller.
Friends and family will be received Friday, April 7, 2017, from 6:00 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 1055 and the US Marine Corps.
