Richard L. Willyard Sr.

He was born December 7, 1944, in Ravenna, Ohio, a son of the late William and Flora (Utley) Willyard. Dick was an operating engineer for S&S Aggregate in Shalersville, retiring in 2002. He served in the Vietnam War as a veteran of the US Army. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, and camping. Most of all, he enjoyed the company of his family and watching his grandkids play baseball.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Dorothy Willyard, sons Richard L. Willyard Jr. and Steven D. Willyard, grandchildren: Weston, Macy, and Robyn; brothers: Billy, Jim, and Bob Willyard; sisters: Carolyn Hawkinberry, Loretta Dolin, Joyce Lovejoy, Cheryle Sands, Sandra Lovejoy, Ruth Hawkinberry, and Bonnie English; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Larry “Butch” Willyard.

Friends will be received Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor David Ballert on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township.
